Neil Armstrong

Bio

American naval aviator, test pilot and astronaut who commanded Apollo 11 and on 20 July 1969 became the first person to walk on the Moon, watched by an estimated global television audience of hundreds of millions. He had earlier commanded Gemini 8, performing the first docking of two spacecraft in orbit. He later taught aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
