Amelia Earhart

Bio

American aviator who in 1932 became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and later set multiple distance and altitude records. She helped found The Ninety-Nines, an organisation for women pilots, and wrote and lectured widely on aviation. She disappeared over the central Pacific in 1937 during an attempted circumnavigation; her fate remains undetermined.
