American artistic gymnast and the most decorated gymnast in World Championship and Olympic history by combined medal count, with several skills named after her in the sport's code of points. She withdrew from events at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 citing mental health and disorientation known as the twisties, and returned to win further titles. She also testified before the US Senate on abuse in gymnastics.
